Briz Brain & Spine is one of the largest neurosurgery and spinal surgery groups in Australia and provides the most advanced and modern treatment of conditions of the brain and spine. Currently, the practice includes seven neurosurgeons and two orthopaedic spinal surgeons. They are supported by a neurosurgical nurse practitioner, clinical nurses and a large administration team, to ensure seamless delivery of patient care, from diagnosis through to recovery.

The group has created one of the largest freestanding multi-disciplinary neurosurgery and spinal surgery centres in Australia at Bowen Hills Medical Specialist Centre. This new practice location will also support their other Brisbane, Toowoomba, Lismore, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone and Caboolture consulting locations.

This comprehensive new practice location will enable Briz Brain & Spine to utilise the most advanced technology, participate in clinical trials, produce publications, teach junior surgeons and ultimately be a destination site for spinal and neurosurgical conditions in Queensland.

Designed with patient convenience in mind, Briz Brain & Spine’s impressive facility has been developed to provide a welcoming environment, situated on one level with easy access from the car park. Shared spaces with other tenants to allow for a true multi-disciplinary approach, further enhances patient convenience and utility. The close proximity with neighbouring tenants including Queensland X-Ray and QSMC will ensure well-rounded programs for individual patients designed in collaboration and consultation with other specialists.

From this Bowen Hills practice location, Briz Brain & Spine hosts the Newro Foundation, their research arm, and a boardroom which has the ability to convert to a training room as needed. Being close to RBWH allows for surgeons and other specialists working across the two sites in a public and private capacity to potentially outsource their public consultations onsite.

Queensland X-Ray is the largest private imaging group in the state, with over 45 practices. Over the past 30 years, Queensland X-Ray has forged a reputation for delivering exceptional patient care through a specialised team of radiologists, technologists and administrative staff and is committed to providing the best service, care and clinical outcomes for patients.

The new Bowen Hills Medical Specialist Centre practice is Queensland X-Ray’s first facility located in inner-city north Brisbane, having historically been situated further south, and is unique among its current practices.

Considered a ‘super-clinic’, with similarities to clinics located in Coorparoo and Southport, this will provide highly specialised diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures.

The design of the new practice has been heavily influenced by the industrial setting of the building ensuring a comfortable space and waiting rooms for patients and making the most of the high ceilings, exposed brick and sense of space.  The practice will feature individual ‘pods’ for patient care, providing a pleasant and private environment for each visitor.

The space provides 3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Sports Imaging, Computed Tomography (CT), X-ray, Ultrasound and one of the first EOS Imaging services in the inner north of Brisbane city.

Queensland X-Ray is thrilled to provide an exciting new space in this highly sought after inner-city location.
